DAY TRADER

A Day Trader is a trader who works on a short time frame, and enters and closes positions on the stock market or other financial market within a short time frame, usually within the same day. S/He tends to actively trade in very liquid markets like the futures market. He will invest in futures like the S&P 500 EMinis, ERussell Eminis, Dow EMinis, and Nasdaq EMinis. He may also trade in individual stocks, and on the currency market.

There is no professional qualification required to become a Day Trader. Many people day trade from their own home. this has become possible with the advances in technology, the proliferation of the Internet, and the ease with which one can set up an online account with an online broker - there are several low cost brokers on the internet today (see trading resources).
